*******FRANCES L. ROBLES*******
Today mark's the 10th anniversary of my great-grandmother's death. I remember it so vividly. I had one of the worst birthdays that year as I turned 26. The last conversation I had with her was about me having children and getting married. She actually disliked my then boyfriend (as did everybody) and asked me to make sure that I knew what I was doing and not to make any rash decisions.
Thank GOD for that one, but more importantly THANKS Grandma for knowing better. ;-)
On this day, I want to remember her for always being the awesome woman she was and who finally allowed me into the infamous "Cherry Patch Gang." That is a family secret and therefore divulging it would get me a visit from her in my dream where she will threaten to tickle my feet when I sleep. LOL
She had the funniest personality; a bit Betty White splashed with a little Kathy Griffin. She had the world's best homemade beans, the best AVON books, the best taste in my Winter school jackets. and the senior discount card for IHOP where she ordered the "Rooty-tooty-fresh-and-fruity."
I am GLAD you met Joseph's son, my nephew Jonathan Sebastian Ramirez (you allowed him to play the piano in the backroom at Kensington) and always gave him treats.
I am happy you knew the boys, Christian and Matthew and that they knew their Nana.
More importantly, I am GREATFUL to you and my Tata for taking in a BIG portion of Joseph's and my childhood. We had SO MANY fun times, soo many memories, and SO much more than that. We had unconditional LOVE!
I only wish I HAD listened to you and allowed you to show me how to knit/crochet. DAMN IT. But I still do have your sewing machine along with your cross in my room.
Oh and Grams, I still keep my bible in the "safe drawer."
I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU EVERYDAY. ON THIS DAY, I want you to know how much you are missed and how much your legacy lives on.
Give my Tata and my Aunti a HUGE hug and kiss for me and tell them I will see them again.
God Bless you Grandma! Hope you are making them laugh in heaven!
I shall await you all in my dreams.
